STEVENS POINT, Wis. (May 4, 2021) – SentryWorld has begun to hire employees for The Inn at SentryWorld, which is nearing completion.
Sentry is building the boutique hotel on its campus in Stevens Point, Wis.—home to SentryWorld, a championship-level parkland golf course and the 2023 U.S. Senior Open Championship. The Inn at SentryWorld, featuring spacious rooms, suites, and intimate gathering spaces, is located just off the 18th fairway where it provides beautiful views of the course and its peaceful parkland setting. The Inn will offer guests high-end accommodations and services coupled with authentic Wisconsin charm.
SentryWorld is hiring for a variety of roles at The Inn to serve guests and help make their experiences memorable. The roles include baristas, bartenders, a café manager, head baker, food runners, door attendants, desk attendants, and room attendants. The organization initially plans to hire about 60 employees who will undergo training prior to The Inn’s mid-summer opening. SentryWorld plans to continue to hire people through the end of the year. The Inn eventually could employ up to 125 people.
Todd Kuckkahn, executive director of the Portage County Business Council, welcomes job growth from an established business in the community.
“Economic impact is so much more meaningful when it comes from within and The Inn at SentryWorld has provided that,” he said. “It takes so much more energy to bring new businesses in. When one grows within our community, the chances for success are so much better. Sentry and SentryWorld are not only creating meaningful jobs, but also are adding a great feature to our menu of talent attraction tools with The Inn. Their campus exudes what central Wisconsin is all about!”
Chad Bates, The Inn general manager, says that he looks for two distinct qualities in interested candidates: “If you have the natural ability to smile and genuinely care about others, you’ll be a great fit for our team.”
SentryWorld is also hiring employees for other areas of its hospitality business, including PJ’s, the Fieldhouse, and meetings and events—all slated to reopen in June. The SentryWorld golf course, which currently is undergoing renovations in advance of the U.S. Senior Open, is expected to reopen mid-August.
To serve all its operations, SentryWorld plans to employ a versatile staff to help make guests’ experiences as memorable as possible. Previous hospitality experience is nice, but not required for many roles. The organization is committed to providing a warm, welcoming, team-focused atmosphere for employees.
“Whether you’re looking for a summer job or a new career, we’d love for you to join us and be a part of the exciting hospitality industry,” said Mike James, SentryWorld general manager. “What’s required is for you to have a service heart. This means you’re someone who genuinely likes to take care of others and make people happy.”
